Juventus ‘make £75million bid for Matthijs de Ligt’ as they look to fend off fierce interest in Ajax wonderkid
Juventus have lodged a £75million bid for Ajax centre-back Matthijs de Ligt, according to reports in Italy.
The Ajax wonderkid has attracted heavy interest from a host of Europe’s top clubs, including Barcelona, Liverpool and Manchester United.
And according to Italian publication Tuttosport, the Serie A giants have now swooped in with the big-money offer to try and fend off interest from their European rivals.
De Ligt has become one of the most sought after players in world football this summer following a fine campaign for Ajax.
The 19-year-old Dutchman won the Eredivisie title and progressed to the Champions League semi-finals with the exciting Ajax squad.
Juventus are looking to bolster their squad in the transfer window as they look to claim their first Champions League title since 1996.
